Opportunities From: Bridgewater Retirement Community

Many residents of Bridgewater Retirement Community LOVE animals; however, they cannot take care of them in this setting. Pet visits/pet therapy visits allow the opportunity for residents to engage with dogs or cats as well as volunteers.  Pet Therapy volunteers can set up a schedule that works for them with the volunteer services office.

Pet Therapy Volunteers will need to:

- Need to come through volunteer orientation prior to volunteering.

- Have an initiate pete  pet volunteer visit with the BRC volunteer services team.

-Provide vaccination records for their pet prior to coming into the community.

-Must keep dogs on a least or cats in a carrier which in public areas.

- Provide any Pet Therapy Association paperwork if applicable.

Meals on Wheels is such an important part of our community and to be able to offer another day to local residents that need support will be so important for the residents and the interaction and food they receive! The Number of Seniors Will Double by 2060. Over the next 40 years, the number of senior citizens in the US will double from 46 million to 100 million. This is why Meals on Wheels is so important to the community we live in! 

Bridgewater Retirement Community offers a weekly Sunday evening service to promote residents' spiritual engagement. Residents can watch the service on close-circuit television or attend live services at BRC’s Lantz Chapel. To enable residents to attend this service in person, volunteers assist by pushing residents in wheelchairs or walking with residents to the chapel. 

Come enjoy the fun!  We are currently seeking volunteers to support Bingo in Nursing Households on Monday mornings.  This opportunity will take place between 10:15 am and 11:45 am.  Volunteers will assist with helping to transport residents from households to the multipurpose room, assist residents in covering bingo cards, handing out prizes, and other support as needed.
